Language Arts: Continue working on your book report outline/project tonight. The outline portion should be coming to a close. At home be working on a rough draft for your big project. (Options are on the back of your outline sheet.) This project will be due on this Thursday Nov. 17th. Good luck!

Fall Conference time will be here soon! The dates are Friday, November 18th, Monday, November 21st, and Tuesday, November 22nd. All three days there are 15 min. slots open from 12:30-4:30.    Please click on the link provided below to schedule a conference time with Ms. Baker and Mr. Kasch.

When the conference schedule appears:
1)  type in your name and your child's name in parentheses.
2)  next, choose a specific day and time (only one, please).

Math: 

• 1st hour: Estimating Quotients Text
• 2nd hour: Connecting Models to Symbols text p. 117 Set D

Language Arts: 

• 1st hour: Linking Verbs worksheet + write the two things that are being linked (ex: He was tired, He = tired)
• 2nd hour: Linking Verbs worksheet + write 5 of your own sentences on the back, circling the linking verb and underlining the words that are being linked. There should be no action verbs in your sentences.

Social Studies: We had our last class time to work on our booklets in class. The rest is homework. All should be done for tomorrow (including drawings and color.) Can't wait to read them!

 Continue working on your Social Studies booklet. Most of us needed some extra time to finish those, so the new due date for those is this Wednesday (the day after tomorrow.) Be sure to comment below the post if you have any questions about the S.S. Colonialism booklet. We will have time in class to work on these tomorrow, otherwise its homework.

Science:
No homework tonight.

11/3/11: Homework

Language Arts:

• 1st hour: Finish revising/editing your historic fiction short stories using your 6 traits of writing check sheet. (The final copy of this should go in the Roanoke Island chapter of your Social Studies booklet. )
• 2nd hour: Complete the fill in the blank summary about Roanoke Island. You will have to copy the completed summary onto the Roanoke Island chapter of your Social Studies booklet.

Math:

• 1st hour: Dividing Multiples of 10 & 100 handout
• 2nd hour: Checking Reasonableness handout

Social Studies: 

Many students are on different stages of completing this project. 
If you've remained on task you should at least be on the summary writing phase of this project.

• If you haven't finished your notes, you need to take a Social Studies textbook over the weekend to finish your research notes.
• Once you finish your notes, complete a summary for each Roman numeral of your outline. 
• Revise/edit your summaries and publish them in your final copy of your Colonialism booklet.

11/2/11:Homework

Math:

• 1st hour- No homework (You had a test today.)

• 2nd hour-Checking for Reasonableness finish text page 88-89

Language Arts:

• 1st hour- finish rough draft of short story.
• 2nd hour-paragraph worksheet

 

Social Studies:

• Write at least one more summary for your Colonialism booklet. 
• ( Jamestown, Plymouth, Colonial Life, Slavery brought to the Americas.)
